PXPumps opens doorsBy Murray Pollok - Jan 14th, 2005A new Danish company, PXPumps A/S, is manufacturing a line of wastewater pumps that it will market worldwide as an alternative to the equivalent Swedish-made Pumpex range. The formation of PXPumps follows the decision last year by Cardo Group in Sweden – which owns the Pumpex and ABS pump businesses - to merge ABS and Pumpex into one company, branded ABS and with a single international sales network. Chief executive officer of PXPumps, Henrik Mogensen, who has 25 years experience with Pumpex A/S, the Danish distributor for Pumpex, said; “PXPumps has designed and developed a range that will fill the void left by Pumpex pumps.” Pumpex A/S and PXPumps have the same holding company, Europump A/S. However, Maria Arvidsson Bergving, marketing communications director at ABS, told ERN that the former Pumpex wastewater pumps would still be available under the ABS brand. The company plans to offer two lines of ABS wastewater pumps – one high specification and one lower. In addition, ABS plans to continue to sell dewatering pumps under both the ABS and Pumpex brands, with the ABS models sold through the ABS network and the Pumpex range through existing Pumpex dealers. Mr Mogensen at PXPumps, meanwhile, told ERN that as many as 45 former Pumpex dealers worldwide had agreed to sell its new PX wastewater pumps. Pumpex A/S in Denmark will continue to sell Pumpex product until its dealership agreement expires in June, after which it will market PXPumps. The company has also appointed Pioneer Pumps as its sales agent in the UK and the US, and a PXPumps dealership for Sweden will open this year. It has still to finalise dealers in France and Germany. Mr Mogensen said the PX wastewater pumps will comprise five models in the 0,655 kW to 92 kW range and will share some components with the Pumpex models, but would feature better motors, a more efficient impeller design, and an internal cooling jacket will be standard, even for wet pit installations. PXPumps said it would also introduce a range of dewatering pumps up to 60 kW in size in July this year. © Copyright 2004 by www.KHL.com |
